Quick Overview

Denon DJ Prime 4 Standalone DJ System Top Front View

The Denon DJ Prime 4 is an advanced all-in-one standalone DJ system which features a large 10-inch multi-gesture touchscreen alongside a professional DJ mixer and two decks that offer a wealth of performance-based controls. A multi-core processor works to give you an unrivalled performance that can handle the most demanding mixing tasks and means you do not need a computer to mix and perform. The 4-deck control with advanced touchscreen workflow offers excellent playback capabilities, so you can mix with confidence and take your mixes to the next level.

Denon Prime 4 features a large 10-inch touchscreen that allows you to browse and interact with your digital music collection so you can view essential track data such as track and artist title, BPM, key and pitch information, track waveforms, and time remaining/elapsed. The touchscreen can be fully tilt adjusted so you can position the screen where it is most comfortable while the tactile multi-gesture control gives you the ability to do multiple tasks at once.

Prime 4’s professional club-style DJ mixer gives you four channels to mix between; each channel comes with a 3-band EQ and a gain control for sculpting your sound. A dedicated dual-function sweep FX and filter control on all channels provide you with dynamic effects for manipulating your tracks and lets you perform smooth effect sweeps; sweep effects includes Filter, Echo, Wash, and Noise. The smooth line faders and crossfader lets you make precise cuts as well as gentle blends for seamless mix transitions. If you wish you can also browse your music collection and load tracks directly from the mixer using the rotary encoder at the top.

The Prime 4 features two deck sections and can be layered to give you a total of four independent decks to control. Each deck is equipped with transport controls allowing you to play/pause, cue and sync your tracks while looping controls feature an automatic looping encoder as well as the traditional in/out manual looping buttons. Large pitch faders let you precisely set pitch adjustments and features a key lock/sync setting as well as pitch bend controls for accurate beatmatching. Industry-leading time stretching algorithms means you can make extreme tempo changes and match or shift a song's harmonic key in real-time without sounding distorted or robotic.

Super-responsive, touch capacitive jog wheels offer superior platter control and allow you to perform scratch routines and cuts when the vinyl mode is turned on. In the center of the platters, a high-definition screen gives you track information alongside track/artist artwork while a customisable RGB light ring surrounding the platter gives you a sleek finish. Both decks come with eight RGB backlit performance pads allowing you to trigger Hot Cues, Loops, Rolls, and Beat Slices as well as Auto-Loops and Slicer Loops. This means you can remix your tracks on-the-fly and manipulate your tracks in a variety of ways for creative mix transitions.

Two expressive multi-FX sections give you unparalleled control over your sound and let you manipulate your mixes however you please. Four rotary controls let you set effect parameters such as intensity, frequency, and dry/wet amount and feature dedicated displays so you can easily see how much you’re affecting your tracks. The variety of 13 different effect types are inherited directly from the X1800 Prime club mixer, so you know you’re getting professional effects.

You can easily load your digital music collection directly into the Prime 4 standalone DJ controller thanks to the four USB inputs, one SD card port, or 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. You can also use any of these ports to record your mixes directly to a USB drive or SD card saving you loads of hassle. This advanced standalone DJ system provides you with playback for a wide range of audio file types such as FLAC, ALAC, WAV, or MP3 allowing your whole music collection to be at your disposal. If you wish there is also USB keyboard support which lets you connect a keyboard to the controller for the best track browsing possible.

The rear of the Prime 4 is equipped with a range of inputs and outputs which allow you to add external devices to your setup. Four RCA inputs come with line or phono level switches as well as a grounding port so you can seamlessly implement turntables, CDJs, or media players into your setup. There are also two XLR/TRS combo inputs for connecting microphones or additional instruments such as keyboards, drum machines, or synthesisers. The microphone inputs come with dedicated EQ controls as well as volume and effect controls plus punch in on/off and talk-over functions.

The main XLR outputs can be set to mono or stereo while an additional booth output lets you have a monitor speaker close to you while in the DJ booth. A brand new zone output enables you to send a dedicated music playlist to a separate location while you take control of the dance floor. The zone output allows you to stream music automatically into a second room. Any four of the channels can be sent directly to the zone output; this means you can mix with three channels while the fourth exclusively plays a selected playlist to a second room.

Denon DJ’s Engine Prime Music Manager comes integrated directly into the Prime 4 letting you import your digital music files effortlessly from iTunes, Serato DJ Pro, Traktor Pro, and Rekordbox. This lets you import existing playlists, folders, hot cues, and looping information from other music analysis software so you will not need to re-analyse your tracks. However, if you do need to analyse new music all you need to do is load the track into the Prime controller, it will then be automatically analysed when loaded into a deck.

Using the Prime 4’s StagelinQ connection mobile and events DJs can now seamlessly integrate dynamic lighting visuals and video scenes into your performances. The StagelinQ connection will require a Soundswitch, Timecode, or Resolume device to get working, but this will significantly improve your visuals thanks to the synchronised light shows you’ll be able to take advantage of.

The Prime 4 standalone DJ controller has been built upon the legacy of Denon DJ’s 25+ year experience in audio engineering and manufacturing excellence. The super-robust build quality and pristine 24-bit audio capabilities combine to provide you with an unrivalled performance that is built to last. A highly-rugged metal chassis was developed for everyday on-stage use so you can be sure it can take whatever challenge you throw at it. Nothing else on the market sounds, performs, or offers an experience like the Prime 4 making it light-years ahead of any existing DJ system.
