Cubase has been a key player in the music production business. Having been utilised by many music producers, sound designers, and composers from a wide variety of disciplines. Whether using Cubase to compose elaborate film scores as Junkie XL and Hans Zimmer do, or for creating bass music anthems like Noisia. Cubase Pro 10 is a must-have music production tool for all aspiring and professional producers.
Steinberg have raised the bar even higher and implemented a few features that have been desired by many longtime Cubase users for a while now. Along with these features, the user interface has been given a slight makeover and the engine has been upgraded allowing for 32-bit recording capabilities.
One new feature, in particular, has been a long time overdue and that is the addition of 'Easy Sidechaining'. Before sidechaining was needlessly complex often the routing caused much confusion among users. Now when you apply a compressor to a channel you can select your sidechain input directly from the plugin. This also will speed up workflow for experience Cubase users. Other cool features include; audio alignment which is great for aligning multiple audio tracks great for vocal stacks. Also, a new visually designed channel strip which comes with a compressor, EQ, limiter, desser, and enveloper.
The mix-console has also been upgraded even including mix snapshots. Allowing you to recall setting such as level setting and routing from an old project into a new one. This is great for allowing producers to create mix templates for similar styles of songs. Or for producers such as jingle writers who are required to write various styles of music for work.
For all the music composers and sound engineers, the addition of AAF export will allow you to easily compose and record within Cubase Pro and then prep the file for mixing within Pro Tools or vice versa.
