The Roland System-1m is a powerful semi-modular synthesiser with plug-out capabilities alongside a unique design which can be used as a Eurorack, tabletop synth, or 19-inch rackmount unit. Not only does it work as a powerful standalone instrument, it features several external inputs as well as a range of CV/Gate connections that let the synth be re-patched so it can interface with other modular synthesis systems. The System-1m’s CV/Gate connections combined with the ability to load classic Roland Plug-Out synthesiser models such as the SH-101 and Promars, offering versatility and power that is simply unparalleled.

The System-1m is a versatile, powerful instrument that has been designed around Roland’s 40 years of experience in developing synthesisers and is capable of producing a broad range of synth tones, from bright, vibrant arpeggios to huge booming basses. However, Roland are also known for their range of iconic vintage synthesisers including a long list of classic synths, known for their instantly identifiable character and genre-defining tones, which is why Roland designed and developed Plug-Out technology.

Plug-Out synthesisers make use of Analogue Circuit Behaviour technology allowing them to re-create the sounds of the most sought-after classic synthesisers perfectly. Within your DAW Plug-Out synths work just like a regular VST or AU plug-in, when paired with the System-1m’s broad range of controls and functions giving you an elegant controls surface that works seamlessly. You can also load Plug-Out synthesisers directly into the System-1m and switch between the internal synthesiser and the Plug-Out versions of Roland classics such as the SH-101, SH-2, and Promars with no computer needed at all.

Modular synthesisers are prized by many producers and sound designers thanks to their ability to create completely unique and interesting sounds; however they do demand a massive investment of both time and money to build a fully functioning instrument. The System-1m removes all the guesswork when getting a modular system and offers excellent sounds with the freedom to experiment as soon as you take it out the box and comes as a fully self-contained module that can be placed in a 19-inch rackmount, or simply on a tabletop. The System-1m is powered by a supplied AC adapter and can be played via any standard MIDI keyboard as well as receive MIDI data from your DAW.

The System-1m is equipped with vibrantly lit, colour coded patch points that can be experimented with and can also have its architecture reconfigured so it can connect to a broad range of synthesiser modules. It can also be placed inside of a standard Eurorack case and powered by an integrated case power thanks to the included adapter cables. The versatile synthesiser architecture works to integrate with existing modular setups or can be the beating heart of your modular synthesiser rig.

When connecting the System-1m with other modular equipment allows you to create a vast array of sonic possibilities and comes with an impressive oscillator section, smooth filters, and snappy envelopes while the combination of CV/Gate modularity, Plug-Out capabilities, and DAW integration works to take your productions to an entirely new level.
