ThePioneer DJM-2000 Nexus follows the blueprint of its predecessor, the DJM-2000, with some added features. The mixer retains the 5.8-inch LCD multi-touch screen, Live Sampler and the touch panel that triggers the performance modes. The newer features included ProDJ Link LAN connection, Sync Master and Beat Slice.

Having the new ProDJ Link feature makes sure a smooth connection is made between either two laptops or up to four CDJ players or turntables. The new Sync Master feature allows DJs to set the master BPM for CDJ players and in turn control it from the mixer. The Beat Slice feature enables tracks to be sliced and then arranged immediately. These are in addition to the already well known and used ones including Live Sampler, Quantized Beat Effects and Instant FX. If that wasn’t enough mixing capabilities in the unit there is the touch panel that can be used to control three new performance modes – MIDI mode, Frequency Mix and an improved Side Chaining Remix mode.
