In Ableton Live’s Session View or Logic’s Live Loops, the 16 drum pads double as Launchpad-style clip launchers with RGB backlights that match your screen.

The upgraded keybed of Launchkey 49 MK4 is designed for sensitivity and durability. With 49 semi-weighted, waterfall-style keys, it offers the feel of a premium hardware instrument. For finger drummers, the patented, velocity-sensitive FSR drum pads with polyphonic aftertouch feature unique radial sensors for increased sensitivity and improved consistency.

Enhanced Creative Tools

Launchkey 49’s creative tools are built into the hardware, ensuring consistent functionality in your DAW, with hardware synths, or on mobile devices. Scale Modes allow you to lock your keyboard to one of 30 scales to eliminate wrong notes or map everything to the white keys. Fixed Chord mode triggers full chords from a single key, and new Chord Maps let you craft emotive progressions from the pads. The latest arpeggiator iteration makes it easier to twist and mutate sequences for endless inspiration.

Flexible Performance Options

You can now split Launchkey 49’s keyboard into two zones to play one with each hand or layer two MIDI channels across all 49 keys to send the same notes to both.

Custom Modes for Personalised Control

Launchkey’s controls are customisable. Using the free Components software, configure the faders, pads, and encoders to behave as you want with your software or hardware. Store up to four custom mappings for each and recall them instantly from the hardware.

Beyond the Computer

The five-pin MIDI output allows easy connection to hardware synthesizers without a DAW. Together with Components and custom mappings, you can control essential functions directly from your keyboard. Launchkey is USB-powered and class compliant, making it compatible with many music-making apps for iPhone and iPad, including the free Novation Launchpad app.

Included is Ableton Live 12 Lite, enabling you to record and perform with up to eight tracks of MIDI or audio, alongside a suite of instruments, effects, and creative tools.
