The Korg Volca Sample 2 is a digital sample sequencer that allows you to record, edit, and sequence up to 200 sample sounds in real time for exciting live performances and DJ sets and pairs perfectly with any existing Volca setup or works brilliantly on its own.

There is more of everything

The Korg Volca Sample 2 has increased in both size and ferocity since its inception. When you first switch on the Volca 2, you'll see the new 200-slot boost in RAM. This is a two-fold increase above what was originally offered. Even the default 50 options are left blank on the factory menu so you may add and customise your own bank. There are now 16 pattern positions instead of the previous 10 made with all producers and beat creators in mind.

This new Volca Sampler 2 recaptures the creative flair of first-generation samplers which allow you to manipulate any sound to become material for your musical creations and is perfect for DJs, musicians, and music producers who want to get super experimental in their performances and songs.

Integrated step sequencer

The Volca Sample comes with an integrated step sequencer that is designed to offer easy editing abilities and allows parts to be added and removed on the fly using the 16 step keys with a visual indicator that shows you the timing of the notes in a measure. You can also record your performances in real-time if needs be and you can save up to ten sequence patterns in the internal memory for recalling at any moment. A motion sequencer function works to record your knob movements so you can alter the sound over time and is a great way to modulate your audio and lets you create genuinely original live performances.

The parameters that can be used in conjunction with the motion sequencer include playback start point, sample length, high-cut cutoff frequency, playback speed, pitch EG depth, pitch EG attack, pitch EG decay, amp level, pan, amp EG attack, and amp EG decay. Being able to record the motion of the movements of the knobs gives you sophisticated editing possibilities that have been impossible for hardware samplers of this category to perform.

Dynamic Performances

A swing function adjusts the swing playback position and helps generate distinctive grooves for dance music styles and hip-hop and gives you the option to alter the character of your tracks by letting you shift between rushing and dragging your beats. An active step function gives you the ability to skip steps while a sequence is playing while a step jump function lets you instantly play the step you’re pressing. This allows you to create short-loop effects as well as irregular rhythms for dynamic performances and makes it seem as if you’re playing the sequencer like a real instrument.

Frequency EQ isolator

The Volca Sample 2 comes equipped with a frequency EQ isolator which is a powerful, creative tool when creating various electronic dance music genres and can be applied to develop powerful alterations to your sounds and samples as well as create developments in your tracks such as breakdowns by boosting or cutting the low and high-frequency ranges. The isolator EQ makes use of an analogue circuit that works to offer a thick, lush sound even when placed in a flat position. A built-in reverb effect can be turned on/off for each separate sound part and can be used in conjunction with the isolator EQ to enhance your live performances and create cool effects.

A first for the Volca range is the addition of a song mode which allows you to save up t six sing patterns, each combining up to 16 sequences and enables performance possibilities that are highly unique and lets you play a diverse range of samples as well as perform alongside another synchronised Volca unit while dramatically changing your rhythms patterns on the Volca Sample. A sample reverse function allows you to perform hip-hop style sample effects and can be turned on/off independently for each sample part.
