Korg Monotron Delay Analogue Ribbon Synthesiser (ARCHIVED)

The Korg Monotron Delay is a compact, battery-powered analogue synthesiser that comes with a ribbon touchpad keyboard as well as a highly-intuitive interface that offers five knobs and a single switch giving you ease of use yet hours of entertainment and exploration. The Monotron Delay provides analogue-style delay echoes alongside a new low-frequency oscillator for creating exciting new sounds while an original analogue filter taken from the MS series allows you to sculpt your sound with precision.

The Monotron Delay analogue synthesiser is optimised for sound effects and offers an analogue oscillator, a filter, and an LFO as well as a ‘Space Delay’ that’s perfect for swooping, cosmic sounds and is an essential part of the classic analogue synth sound. The Delay even reproduces the pitch changes that happen when you vary the delay time which is similar to using an analogue tape echo and adds an authentic, warm edge to your analogue sounds.

The LFO comes equipped with a choice of two waveshapes, a square wave, and a triangle wave, with controls for speed and intensity/depth which can be adjusted independently of each other to create crazy sound effects. A trimpot on the rear panel allows you to continually change the shape/direction of the triangle wave or the pulse-width of the square wave and when used in conjunction with the delay, the LFO can generate an array of dazzling effects and unique artifacts for polishing your tracks and performances with.

A ribbon control keyboard provides you with a broad four-octave range and allows you to control the pitch more dynamically and expressively than most compact synthesisers which make the unit ideal for floor moving sounds. The reversed white keys and body adornments light up underneath black-lights for a striking visual impact in almost any club environment.

The Monotron Delay comes equipped with the same voltage-controlled filter circuit as the Korg classic MS-10 and MS-20 semi-modular synthesisers and works to alter and enhance your sounds dramatically. The cutoff control sets the frequency/tone of the filter while the peak control provides you with emphasis. A powerful filter is an essential part of any synthesiser and allows you to control the tonal aspects of your sound and gives you a personality that’ll stand out in any performance.

An auxiliary input on the rear of the Monotron Delay allows you to input any audio source into the Delay’s signal path directly before the filter and delay circuits which mean you can use the Monotron to bend and alter any signal you input. A miniature speaker is built into the synthesiser and along with the battery operation, and compact size makes the device highly portable and perfect for live performances while a headphone output means you can practice in private and not disturb your neighbours.
