Compact, Production Unit

The Akai MPD232 Pad Controller is made for today’s music producers and performers. It’s portable and has 16 responsive, RGB-lit pads that pick up every detail of your playing. Four assignable faders and simple controls give you direct control over your sound, whether you’re on stage or in the studio, even when the lights are low. You can organize up to 64 pads across four banks, making it easy to switch between sounds and manage samples. With 30 DAW presets included, the MPD232 works right away with top music software, so it’s a plug-and-play choice for artists at any level.

Comprehensive Controls

With a variety of pads, faders, and assignable controls, you have full control over your soundbanks and productions. There are 8 assignable faders, 8 Q-link knobs, and 8 Q-Link buttons, giving you access to every part of your favorite DAW. You can add automation, change pitch, control virtual instruments, and build complex rhythms. The 64-part, 32-step sequencer lets you create rhythm patterns to control pad events and trigger loops. You get 72 assignable controls across 3 banks, so you can set up your favorite functions in any compatible software. The MPD232 also includes dedicated transport controls and classic MPC features like MPC Note Repeat, MPC Swing, 16 Level, Full Level, and Tap Tempo.

Versatile Connectivity

The Akai MPD232 has a plug-and-play USB interface that works with both Mac and PC, so you don’t need to install drivers. It also has MIDI In and Out jacks for connecting other instruments and sound modules. The USB connection powers the MPD232, so you don’t need an external power supply, which is helpful for live shows. Akai also made it compatible with iOS devices using the Camera Connection Kit (sold separately). The MPD232 comes with over £300 worth of software, so you can start making music right away. The included software is Akai Pro MPC Essentials, Big Bang Drums, Bang Cinematic Percussion from Sonivox, Ableton Live Lite, and a Software Preset Editor. This software gives you quality samples and tools to produce, record, and arrange your music easily.

Free MPC Beats Software

You can bring the classic MPC workflow and sounds to your computer for free with the included MPC Beats software. MPC Beats has the familiar 4x4 drum pad grid and a sample library browser with 2GB of samples from the MPC Expansion packs. These are the sounds that helped define a genre with the original MPC series. You can use MPC Beats as standalone software or as a plugin in your DAW. With many beat templates, effects, and processors, you can start making music right away.
