The CDJ-850 inherits many features of the professional series CDJ controllers including the familiar layout, browse buttons and rotary selector to name a few. In addition to these features the 850 boasts a large 206mm jog wheel perfect for ease of use.
Music format compatibility
The controllers’ versatile media compatibility means that it can be used with either USB or CD-R/RW discs or the music formats can be in MP3, WAV, AAC and AIFF.
Rekordbox
Rekordbox music software allows you to manage and modify your music files e.g create and amend playlists, save the file history and adjust the settings. Rekordbox allows for analysing the Beat Grid, BPM, Wave, Cue and Loop of music files.
USB connectivity
As the Rekordbox software stores the music files and settings it enables the data to be effortlessly transferred on to a USB storage device. The USB can then be inserted into the multi-player directly, without the need of a computer. This enables the user to access and play straight from the CDJ-850 itself.
Display capability
The player is able to display information from the music file such as title, artist and BPM. In addition the use of the dial makes it fast and simple to select the music file wanted. The interface also shows the WAVE display, useful for the user to see the flow of the song.
Tag List Function
The Tag List feature allows for a song to be selected (tagged) at the press of a button (even whilst playing a song). This is useful for creating a list of songs that the user wants to play next. In addition to this the order of the songs that have been tagged can be amended and in turn the list can be saved as a playlist in Rekordbox.
Prepared For Any Performance
Adapting to today’s variety of media formats, the CDJ-850 enables playback of MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF audio files from CDs and USB memory devices. A USB port located on top of the turntable enables users to quickly connect an external storage device such as a hard drive packed with music files, minimizing the need to bring a laptop computer to performances.
The CDJ-850 turntable includes rekordbox™, Pioneer’s proprietary music management software that organizes and catalogs a DJ’s entire music library. When music files are imported to rekordbox, the software analyzes each file and prepares them for use specifically with the CDJ turntable.
Tag List Function
The CDJ-850 comes with our Tag List function, which allows a song to be easily registered with the press of a button while playing or selecting a song, so a future playlist can be created. The order of songs in the Tag List can be changed and the list can be saved as a playlist in rekordbox™.
Advanced Auto Beat Loop
The CDJ-850 generates an auto beat loop by pressing the 1,2,4, or 8 buttons. Creating perfect loops that allow DJ’s more time to blend in transitioning music. The CDJ-850 has 10 beat loop options providing DJ’s with a greater level of performance creativity.
Fully Assignable USB MIDI Functionality
MIDI compatible DJing software can be used via a USB connection to a PC. The CDJ-850 is also compatible with USB HID. By connecting via USB HID, the more complex operations of DJing software can be achieved without using a control disc. It can be used as a PC’s audio interface.
Rich Display For Quick And Easy Music Selection
Our GUI, which makes music file information (such as the title, artist and BPM) easy to grasp, and the rotary selector are combined for quick and easy music selection. The WAVE display smoothes out DJ play because it allows the DJ to grasp the flow and dynamics of the whole song.
