
Denon DJ have released details of a Public Beta version 1.4.0 of Engine Prime that users can test and provide feedback on via a dedicated forum thread (details below).
The following new features are ready to test in this Beta release. Within Sync Manager, music can be exported to detachable drives and can sync metadata back to Engine Prime from Engine Ready hardware. On the left sidebar, Crate, Playlist, third-party collection and folder icons can be located. Add Crate, Playlist and Playlist folder icons can be found in the tree view of the collection panel. Device Panel has been relocated to the bottom of the collection panel and can display multiple devices when open simultaneously. Finally, there is Apple Music App and MacOS 10.15 Catalina support.
Aside from the new features, there have been a number of significant improvements including optimised Serato DJ collection import times and stability enhancements. The following issues have also been fixed:
- Engine Prime was being quarantined by antivirus software
- Warning message added if default ‘Music’ folder is unavailable
- BPM filter not displaying all results
- Tracks with a BP value of 125.00 could not be doubled
- USB drives would fail to eject
- Display freezing when force removing active audio device
- File Type was not showing on first import of third-party libraries
- Serato DJ library import/update crash issue
- Date issue where it sometimes was showing 01-01-1970 when tracks were imported from Serato DJ
- Search box could lose focus when typing
- New Traktor performance data was not updating when re-imported
- Album artwork was not being updated if the artwork was added to the track after the initial import
- Total time of a crate/playlist could show 0 seconds on the initial import
- When creating new crates/playlists/playlist folders it would not highlight the correct crate/playlist/folder for renaming
- Loading an un-analysed track was found to change the sort order
- Packing a playlist from within a playlist folder from one external drive to another would fail at times
- Keyboard shortcuts that were reported as not working as expected
- Scroll bar was reported to not work correctly during drag n drop to the device panel
- Tooltips for underlying elements displayed incorrectly when search field selection box was open
- MCX8000 compatibility status was not detected on third-party libraries
- Export to MCX8000 would fail if the track/s are only found on the destination drive
