Pioneer DJ has released a new rekordbox software version 6.0.1 which provides latest and enhanced features, including an industry-first, Vocal Position Detection, and support for Beatsource LINK streaming service.
Vocal Position Detection
This new industry first is achievable by using AI technology. It shows the positions of vocals in tracks just by looking at the waveform. The AI technology has been developed in conjunction with Japanese tech company Qosmo and has deep-learning abilities embedded in a new analysis algorithm. When looking at a waveform, rekordbox highlights accurately when you can expect a vocal, providing a massive step ahead avoiding vocal clashes during a mix.
Beatsource LINK
When updated to the latest software version, you can choose from millions of tracks and numerous playlists from Beatsource LINK catalogue via Performance mode. This new service has been developed for open-format DJs and built by Beatport and DJcity. Performance mode is where you can analyse BPM, key, or waveform, or set and save Hot Cues and Loops for each track. Music can be mixed from Beatsource LINK with music from your rekordbox library, and Beatsource LINK tracks can also be stored in an offline locker within rekordbox (subscription required for this feature).
Other updates
The XDJ-RX and RB-DMX1 have been added to the list of Hardware Unlock devices. As a result, Performance mode can be used freely, when either of the units is connected.
