Numark has announced two new DJ Controllers, the 2-deck Mixtrack Pro FX and 4-deck Mixtrack Platinum FX. Both are crammed with top-quality features, effects buttons, 16 multi-function performance pads and large 6-inch jog wheels.
The DJ Controllers
Both controllers have a similar setup. They both feature 6-inch jog-wheels, with the addition of the Mixtrack Platinum featuring onboard displays in the centre of each wheel. They both include effects paddles, 16 performance pads (8 on each deck) for hot cues, sampling, fader cuts and auto loops, six dedicated software effects buttons and a 24-bit digital soundcard. All these features ensure professional sound quality and have been designed so a DJ can sound their absolute best.
The 6-inch jog wheels are robust and include sensitive-touch capability. They feature groves on the side, and a large surface to control scratching and precise cue placement. The main difference between the Platinum and Pro is the Numark Platinum features a high-resolution on-jog display in the centre of each of the jog wheels with vital information including BPM, Time remaining indicator, Platter Position, Pitch Adjustment and Speed Position. Great for looking at a glance and not having to look at the laptop.
The effects paddles are a feature typically only found on higher priced controllers, so incorporating them into the Numark Mixtrack FX is a quality move. They allow DJs to mix with software effects on each channel and consist of Echo, Reverb, Flanger, Phaser, HPF (High Pass Filter) and LPF (Low Pass Filter).
The Mixtrack Platinum FX is a 4-deck DJ Controller while the Mixtrack Pro FX is a 2-deck DJ Controller. With the Platinum controller, users have access to four-layered decks, accessing 3 and 4 at the touch of a button.
Both controllers come with Serato DJ Lite, which provides access to streaming tunes via TIDAL or SoundCloud. There is the option to upgrade to Serato DJ Pro to unlock further features.
