Mixcloud - You can now stream 100% Legally!

Mixcloud Live has landed. A place where world DJs can now 100% legally live stream. Mixcloud Live is in the Beta phase, and its release has been brought forward due to the current global ‘lockdown’ situation. Hundreds to thousands of DJs are finding their only outlet is through live streaming.

This announcement is hugely welcomed, as currently DJs are being faced with several issues when streaming on other platforms. This includes copyright takedowns, summary deletions of their content and muted streams. This new announcement from Mixcloud, the ever-popular DJ Mix and radio show audio website could not have come at a better time.

Mixcloud Live has the option to stream with or without audio, and it offers the same stream key and stream URL as many other platforms. This means it can be used with OBS, Wirecast and Ecamm Live, to name a few.

It is early days, yet the expectation is that you should not experience issues, like many DJs have been, in the same way with Mixcloud Live. It operates on an alternative licence, a bit like a radio licence, and features the ability to collect royalties.

If Mixcloud sounds like a good streaming platform for you, then a subscription to Mixcloud Pro is required. Currently, there is a 90-day trial and will be £9 per month after that.
