Important AlphaTheta Update: Apple Music Support on rekordbox, XDJ-AZ and OMNIS-DUO

26 October 2026

If you use Apple Music with rekordbox, the XDJ-AZ or OMNIS-DUO, there’s an important update to be aware of.

AlphaTheta has updated the way Apple Music tracks are played on these products. To continue loading Apple Music tracks, you’ll need to make sure you have the required software or firmware version installed before 1 April 2027.

Which products need an update?

The following products require a software or firmware update to continue using Apple Music:

  • rekordbox for iOS/Android: Version 4.5.4 or later
  • rekordbox for Mac/Windows: Version 7.2.0 or later
  • AlphaTheta OMNIS-DUO: Firmware version 2.00 or later
  • AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ: Firmware version 2.00 or later

The required rekordbox versions were released in 2025, while firmware version 2.00 for the OMNIS-DUO and XDJ-AZ was released in October 2026.

What happens if you don't update?

From 1 April 2027, Apple Music tracks will no longer be available to load on the affected products unless the required software or firmware update has been installed.

If you use the OMNIS-DUO or XDJ-AZ, check your current firmware version before updating and follow the relevant Firmware Update Guide.

There’s no update required for products that aren't listed above.
