With venues such as bars, clubs and festivals closing under the current Coronavirus circumstances, it has resulted in a considerable number of pre-planned events being cancelled, or at best postponed. This has left many DJs questioning where that leaves them. Here at The DJ Shop, we think we have found a novel solution… Live Streaming from home.
Why live Stream?
Live Streaming is something that has become more and more prominent within the DJ World. More and more DJs, clubs and gigs are being live-streamed, so those that failed to grab tickets can still grab a piece of the action. What with the current advice about social distancing, and the very real threat of a complete lockdown in the UK, it has only led to fewer people venturing out of their houses. As a DJ, it has you wondering where this will leave you.
We believe live Streaming could be a solution. We have created a little video that explains how you can set up live Streaming, from the comfort of your own home.
EvermixBox4
The EvermixBox4 is a little piece of hardware that will ensure you can live Stream with ease, as well as record super clear, high-quality, professional standard audio. The small unit connects directly into your mixer, and also into your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Android smartphone, where you can then record your set using the Evermix App.
Following this you can share your recording on Mixcloud or Soundcloud, or, save to iCloud, Dropbox or Google Drive. It is fully compatible with Facebook, Instagram Live and YouTube, which are ideal platforms for live Streaming.
The unit is small enough to accompany your setup, has an easy plug-and-play capability, includes self-attenuation software to minimise distortion, and you can even edit your set directly from the App.

Streaming Warning
We just wanted to provide a little warning in that if you do live stream or upload your sets to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram Live or YouTube, some or all of your music may not fully play, be muted or even taken down. The platforms have put in place an algorithmic feature, to stop anyone unlawfully broadcasting music that they don’t fully own the rights too.
Isolation Idea
So, if you find yourself stuck in isolation, consider this to be one of your better ideas to pass the time away. You can continue to stay connected to your ‘social’ crowd along with building a new audience, all from the comfort of your home. Least this way you will have something positive to show for your time.
