Focusrite’s Collaboration with Acustica Audio brings new Plug-in Collective Offer

Focusrite has announced its latest bi-monthly Plug-in Collective offer. For the first time, Focusrite has teamed up with Italian developer Acustica Audio to bring their latest plugin offer. From the 25th March to the 27th May 2021, Focusrite Collective members can download Acustica Audio’s Cream2 for free.

Cream2 is a convolution-based vintage channel strip emulation that has been built on Acqua Engine convolution technology. Cream2 re-enacts the sounds of the British valve and solid-state hardware built between the late 1950s and early 1970s, which was subsequently housed at a world-famous studio for producing some of the timeless albums made to date.
Included in the Cream2 download are four VST/AU/AAX plug-ins in the form of a compressor, 4-band EQ, preamp and an entire channel strip, including all three modules in a single effect. All of the plug-ins are available in Standard and ZL versions where the ZL delivers zero-latency performance for tracking, although it compromises the CPU overhead.

A variety of sonic styling can be achieved through Cream Pre where there is a choice of the tube-based tape deck and transistor-based line/mic preamplifier emulations. Cream EQ reproduces two classic console equaliser circuits and consists of Treble, Presence, Bass and Magic bands (which switches between different responses, including loudness boost and bass). Cream Comp compressor comes with transistor and vari-mu valve variations which also features an external sidechain input and dry/wet mix control.

Focusrite’s Plug-in Collective Product Manager Jonathan Campbell has this to say about the offer… “Cream2 is modelled on some old and iconic British-built hardware that I’ve found to really give an extra element of warmth to my mixes. This powerful tool definitely serves as the icing on the cake in many situations, and any producer will get that extra 5% from it!”

The Focusrite Plug-in Collective Community will massively benefit from Acustica Audio’s Cream2, which offers to add a warm musical vintage sound to any production worthy of that analogue presence. To qualify for the free download, simply visit the Focusrite members area on their website and register your Focusrite product.
