Adam Audio A Control Software Application

ADAM Audio A Control is a free application developed internally by ADAM Audio, which provides A Series monitor customers with a modern speaker management and equalisation system. Users can create their own calibration profiles across six bands of parametric equalisation or make changes to the voicing and room adaptation settings found on the backplate, in addition to managing the transfer of SoundID Reference calibration profiles to the loudspeakers.

All changes made in A Control can be heard in real-time from the listening position, giving users confidence in their equalisations and allowing them to switch between uncalibrated and calibrated audio.

Collaboration with Sonarworks

All of the monitors in the ADAM Audio A Series have a sound that is accurate and clear. The line also has a lot of options for sound and room adaptation that can be changed remotely and in real-time with ADAM Audio's free A Control software application (available for Windows and macOS). A Control also enables a highly anticipated series feature, developed in collaboration with calibration experts Sonarworks. Users can upload and save SoundID Reference calibration profiles directly on to the DSP of A Series monitors using A Control, eliminating the need to launch any additional DAW plugins.

Technological Benefits

Each A Series monitor has a platform built into the DSP of its loudspeakers that can host calibration profiles made in SoundID Reference. This powerful software measures your space's acoustics and creates a unique calibration to help counteract frequencies and resonances that are not good. Unfortunately, this calibration profile usually needs to run a VST or the SoundID Reference application, which uses CPU and adds to latency. By storing the calibration profiles directly on the DSP of the loudspeakers, the A Series integration gets rid of CPU usage and cuts latency by a lot. In addition, once you've moved the SoundID Reference calibration to the speaker, you can keep using it without using any software or network cables.

Trial Period

ADAM Audio and Sonarworks are happy to tell A Series customers about an extended 60-day SoundID Reference trial so that as many people as possible can try out this new technology. Customers of the A Series who register their speakers in the MyADAM area of the website can get a trial licence. It has all of the features of SoundID Reference, including the option to export calibration profiles that can then be imported into A Control and sent to the DSP in the loudspeakers. The ADAM Audio team will email the licence to A Series customers. (Please note that you need a measurement microphone to take the measurements needed to make the calibration profile in SoundID Reference.)
