Standalone Focal Point. 

The Akai MPC X and MPC Live are both standalone products that don’t require a computer to make music. An on-board touch-screen gives you access to the MPC’s standalone capabilities and functions while the iconic performance pad section features 16 RBG backlit pressure sensitive pads. This results in an immersive production centre that offers nothing but unlimited music creation with an intuitive workflow and performance solutions.

High Def Multi-touch Control.

A capacitive multi-touch screen with full colour provides a flexible user interface and tactile control over MPC functions in beautiful high-definition. The screen offers a wide range of features such as; the ability to grab/pinch and edit waveforms, drawing MIDI events, browsing/loading samples, programming a sequencer and apply effects as well as precisely editing mixer controls as well as so much more.

Redefine Control.

The MPCX and MPC Live work not only as high-performing standalone production centres but they can also be hooked up to a computer to be transformed into high-powered MIDI controllers. In standalone mode MPC Software 2.0 powers the Music Production Centre granting access to must have production functions. However when you connect a Mac/PC to your MPC X or MPC Live you have the option to load MPC software as a plug-in inside of your DAW or launch the MPC software as a standalone application and take full creative control of your virtual instruments and effects. No matter what you prefer, MPC seamlessly works in any situation, for any type of musician.

Storage and Connectivity.

MPC X and MPC Live both come with 16GB of internal micro SD storage as standard. But do you want to incorporate your own samples into the MPC without your computer? Akai have you covered. Both models use a 2.5-inch SATA drive connector that allows for extra storage via SSD or HDD hard drives, additionally, use the built-in USB drive and SD Card slot to add your own samples and sounds to the already extensive library.
