Rekordbox 6 has landed. The eagerly awaited software has been on the cards for a while, and at last, it is here. The new software couldn’t have been released at a better time. What with partial lockdown and a significant number having time on their hands means they can review and play around with the new features. Alongside the release of rekordbox 6 is rekordbox for iOS (version 3.0). The software includes some extremely useful new features, including being able to synchronise your entire music library to multiple devices using the cloud-based Dropbox application.
Rekordbox 6 features
The advanced music management and performance software for Mac and Windows contain a plethora of new features including centralised music management with Beatport Link, Soundcloud, Inflyte and Dropbox. Having the ability to upload your library to the cloud (via Dropbox) means you can effortlessly sync across several devices. Rekordbox 6 allows you to access your promo locker directly, provide the option to import individual tracks or automatically sync all promos, and you can view your comments, ratings and see favourite tracks.
There is a light mode option that can be activated to improve visibility in the daytime when using the software outside, and it includes a redesigned interface for an enhanced workflow. There are many other features including the 3 band waveform indicating the volume of each of the frequency bands, support for Ableton Link, Auto Relocate feature which automatically finds missing tracks, performs in sync with compatible apps and devices, features easy mobile library sync to connect devices to the same network, and wirelessly transfers music and metadata between computer and iOS device.
IOS Version 3.0 features
The iOS ver.3.0 update includes a redesigned app for smoother features and interface. There is the ability to edit tracks on the iOS device, has a playlist box for intuitive music management, Quick Cue function where hot cues and memory cues can be set quickly, independent A/B decks, dual control allowing for previewing different points in a mix, and direct playback on CDJs and XDJs from the iOS device. The following formats are supported WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, MP3 and AAC.
