The Editor

Design in-depth and complex patches from the comfort of your Mac/PC and then disconnect for the ultimate standalone workflow.

Full Access to Circuit’s Nova legacy
Access each synth parameter of Circuit’s dual powerful polysynths. With some modest help from the Novation team, their good friends at Isotonik Studios have developed a sophisticated synth editor, putting everything in your control.

Mixing up the Macros
Along with full access to all synth parameters on the fly, you can modify Circuit’s eight macro control knobs patch by patch.

Editing for Everyone
You have probably seen this in public beta as a Max4Live VST plugin, but now you do not require Live Suite, or need a Mac! Tweaked, polished, and enhanced just a little bit, Circuit Editor’s certified public release now runs standalone too, on PC or Mac.

Share Your Patches Or Keep Them Safe
Sharing your sound design and synthesis skills with others couldn't be easier! Circuit Editor allows you to save your creative patches to your computer. You can then choose to lock them away in a top secret folder or share with friends and artists – it’s up to you. Make sure the people you are sharing with have the editor too, though. It’s completely free.

The FirmWare

To make use of these Circuit Components, you will need to get the latest firmware: Circuit v1.2 unlocks compatibility, along with other bug fixes, the latest features; including some user requests, and a few of Novation's own ideas.

Integrate with Other Midi Controllers
Record MIDI notes and other data from external hardware instruments plugged into Circuit: either chromatically, or tuned depending on your preference of key and scale.

Manipulate Circuit’s macro controls from another MIDI controller and record as automation. You can even use your iPad!

Play with Ableton Live
Automatically sync Circuit up with Ableton Live and directly record MIDI from your session – in key, in tempo, and in time – with just a couple of clicks. You can even record your MIDI tracks from Ableton in one key and change it later in two button presses onboard Circuit.

Momentary Record
Hold record, tap in and overdub notes or macros without losing your flow - or unintentionally breaking your active work.

limitless Potential
Even easier step-by-step automation: have an altered pitch on your drums for every hit. Insert FX to a single note in a sequence. Now that it's possible to add a different sound on every step for every track, this unlocks unlimited potential – for intentional creativity or happy accidents.

External Preset Select
Use MIDI program change messages on the fly to remotely switch the sound of Circuit's two dominant synths. Tweak the sound of Circuit’s four drums on the fly using MIDI CC messages from any midi source.
