From the 19th November 2020 through to 14th January 2021 all Focusrite Plug-in Collective members will have access to download D16 group’s Devastor2 distortion and filtering plug-in for free (worth $49). Not only that, but its members also receive a 50% discount on everything within the D16 online store including LUSH-101, Nepheton TR-808, PunchBOX kick drum synth, SH-101 emulations and the Sigmund quad delay unit.
The multiband distortion unit is from much-acclaimed Polish developer D16’s Silverline Collection of virtual effects and expands upon the reimaging of the distortion section from their legendary Phoscyon Roland TB-303. Devastor2 combines analogue-style dynamics processing, filtering and distortion to deliver continuous sounds from gentle warming of frequencies to full-on annihilation. Using Devastor 2’s one-knob compressor, you can add punch and heft, use the trio of independent multimode resonant filters to mould the frequency spectrum and apply the diode clipper emulation into any of the six shapable distortion transfer curves. Signal flow through the clipper and filters is determined through a selection of nine preset topologies, and there is a broad range of transformative routings including a limiter at the end to handle excessive peaks and dry/wet mix control for enabling parallel processing.

The D16 Devastor2 is easy to use and is a versatile effects processor for any sound design engineer. The analogue sound is incredibly authentic, and the plugin is capable of a plethora of effects including adding bite and weight to drums and basses, creating colourful vocals and enhances and distorting guitars and synths.
To take advantage of this offer, then all Plug-in Collective members can download Devastor2 from their Focusrite account from the 19th November 2020. With the download comes a code that activates the 50% off the D16 online shop.

Finally, I leave you with an insight from Focusrite Plug-in Collective Product Manager Jonathan Campbell “This is one of my all-time favourite distortion plug-ins – almost every track I’ve made in the last couple of years has featured it! It’s probably the most diverse distortion plug-in I’ve used, sounding great on everything from basses to drums, and even being great for warming up and saturating vocals. I’m confident that no matter what genre of music you make, you’ll love using this one!”
