The popular Engine DJ operating software update has been released with version 3.3. The update brings new features and several improvements to all Denon DJ and Numark hardware that runs the Engine DJ software. Within this release there are also updates to the Engine DJ desktop.
Operating Software New Features
New features within the Engine DJ OS update include introducing Engine DJ Profiles, Streaming Analysis Database, Match, Fader Echo and Phase Meter.
Engine DJ Profiles is where you can create a custom DJ profile that personalises your Engine DJ device, automatically login to your music streaming and cloud service subscriptions, and register hardware with a single login. So far Amazon Music Unlimited, Dropbox, SoundCloud Go and TIDAL have all participated. All details within the profile would be managed directly through the Engine DJ website.
Streaming Analysis Database provides access to crowd-sourced metadata and beat grid information for streaming services that Engine DJ OS supports. When you are logged in via your Engine DJ profile, the track can be analysed, and once done so, the beat grid, key and BPM data are uploaded to the streaming analysis database.
Match is a tool where songs can be easily located within your library that are compatible with the songs loaded to the decks using new and intelligent filters. Match filters include Follow Lead Deck, Match to Deck, BPM Range, Key Type: Fuzzy, Compatible, Exact, Genre: Close, Exact, or Hide Played.
Fader Echo is where an echo effect can be automatically applied via lowering a channel fader or moving the crossfader away from the mix-out deck, allowing for seamless transitions when mixing tracks. Phase Meter is available for all Engine DJ devices and provides high visibility of the deck’s beat offset from the lead deck.
Additional features include the added touchscreen FX selection for the PRIME 4 and PRIME 4+, the ability to switch to the Prime Go VU meters and trigger playback of saved loops when in the state of pause.

Operating Software Improvements and Fixes
The new 3.3 update brings with it improvements, including adding an FX tab to the device settings menu, Flanger Touch FX amount can now be controlled using the Y-axis, a volume slider has been added to the Noise Gate Toch FX for the Nosie parameter, being able to long press the FX Select GUI element, Ableton Link now has an offset time option to correct the phase, added Resolume Support for PRIME 4+, improved Wi-Fi connectivity and improved moving waveform rendering.
Fixes include an issue where the Ping Pong effect parameter would not visually represent the state of the effect and a Playlist Deck issue where there was no audio output when Amazon Music Unlimited was the sound source.
Desktop Software Update
As mentioned previously, the Engine DJ 3.3 update also brings new features and enhancements to the desktop software. The new feature is that there is now added support for macOS Sonoma. Improvements include the Smartlist text fields having new conditions: does not contain, is equal to, is not equal to, begins with, ends with, empty – “true” or “false”. A couple of issues have been fixed including Engine DJ hanging when trying to eject a drive under certain conditions. The Sync manager would fail to export a track if duplicate tracks were in different playlists.
