They will still hold their reputation for a high-quality product. Yet, they will turn their attention to discovering ways to help save the planet through minimising the output of material waste.
When AIAIAI introduced the modular headphone system in 2015, it presented a unique way to upgrade individual components rather than throwing away and replacing the whole product. This ensures the life of the headphones is extendable, and how they can be used is limitless. Not only is it a unique concept, but it also provides far less product waste overall when compared to standardised headphones.
In 2020, AIAIA took things one step further. As part of their focus and dedication to looking after the planet, they are carefully looking into their use of materials. Their mission is to develop still materials that are “precisely effective”, and all products will still uphold that technical, aesthetic look, and high-quality listening experience. The company have introduced the use of ultra-soft vegan leather, Alcantara earpads and bio-cellulose speaker unit, so already they have planet-friendly products on the go. Additionally, they have pledged to reduce the carbon footprint of their packaging by 80%. To do this, they are introducing new materials and print processes, and is something they continue to work on through 2021 and beyond.
