Propellerhead has announced that Reason 10.1 is now available to Reason 10 holders. The update is free and applies to Reason 10, Reason 10 Intro and Reason 10 Lite.
What does the update include?
The new update includes modifications to their well-known Europa synth. The mods include the ability to load own samples and wavetables, as well as being able to use the oscillators in the engine. Also, filter curves can essentially be created based on your uploaded sample by using it in the Spectral Filter (which in turn will perform as the spectral multiplier). Overall, this is an excellent addition which will hopefully create outstanding sounds, effortlessly.
Another addition to the Reason update is the introduction of a new version of the Rack Extension SDK. It will feature player devices and enhanced sample loading which comes with sample zones and pattern automated support. New Rack Extension Players are available now within the Propellerhead shop including their very own Drum Sequencer.

Other advisories
Propellerhead has advised that they are working hard to resolve some known performance issues with VSTs. They haven’t provided a date for when they expect them to be fixed, however, it is good to know they are aware and addressing the issue. They have also advised that for the rest of the year any upgrades to Reason will be free of charge, another reason to not hesitate to upgrade to Reason 10 now if you have been thinking about it.
