The Pioneer DDJ-SX2 is the new and improved version of the DDJ-SX.  It includes new features that enable full management of the Serato Flip expansion pack which comes free with the purchase of the SX2 controller.  The Pioneer DDJ-SX MK2 runs Serato’s new Flip software perfectly with the inclusion of 6 slots to save 6 sequences which can be played at any time, three separate buttons to cover Slot (store), Start (start/stop loop) and Record (start/stop) functions and record hot cue arrangements which can then be replayed on loop.

The controller comes with four inputs which enables DJs to connect turntables and/or players turning it into a stand-alone, four-channel mixer.  The unit can be connected to professional PA equipment through the booth and two master output connections.  The two MIC inputs have been improved so as to remove distortion.  The SX2 is Serato DJ DVS upgrade-ready which means users can purchase a Serato DJ DVS expansion pack and then scratch with CDJs/analogue turntables by using the Serato NoiseMap Control CD/vinyl. 

The DDJ-SX2 controller also boasts improved jog wheels that have digital cue point markers and exact countdown.  Combine this with the enhanced, low-latency, jog wheels and precise scratch response can be achieved every time.  Also, the controller features backlit performance pads (multi-coloured LEDs) which highlights cue points predetermined in Serato DJ and which modes are in play.  The pads can be used to activate Quantized Hot Cues, Slicer, Roll, Sampler and select shift to save and play Cue and Slicer Loops.  Velocity Mode allows the sample volume to be modified depending upon how much pressure is applied.  The SX2 has been designed with the highest quality audio output in mind.  As a result, the unit has been fitted with a low-jitter clock and a high-performance DJ Digital-to-Analogue Converter (DAC).

Other features include sound colour filters on each channel, slip mode, crossfader curve adjustment, and needle search.  The quality built controller also has MIDI compatibility and can control Traktor Pro 2 (as long as TSI mapping file is downloaded and set up).  Finally, there are included channel and master level meters.
