The RNT is a premium tube condenser microphone that delivers a pristine, natural sonic character that enables you to capture every subtle nuance and detail of your recordings and is uncompromised in comparison to other microphones in the same category. This all-new flagship tube condenser microphone gives you the larger than life classic studio sound with a modern twist allowing you to record with even greater depth and clarity than ever before. This microphone makes a serious addition to any sound engineer’s arsenal and is suitable for both recording studios as well as live performances.

Just like the RNR1 Active Ribbon and RN17 Small-Diaphragm Condenser, the RNT is genuinely unique and has been specially developed over several years with extensive testing and measurements from the Rupert Neve, Siwei Zou, and sE Electronics engineering teams. These pervasive tests result in a microphone that guarantees a high-performance that fully utilises discrete Class-A electronics through both of its active stages. The first active stage is tube-based thanks to the use of a hand-selected, low-noise ECC82 tube inside the chassis and makes use of a custom-built Rupert Neve output transformer. The second active stage lays within the supplied floor box which enables you to control polar patterns, filter, and gain switching and is also coupled with a second custom-made Rupert Neve output transformer. The floor box has been designed around the same custom op-amps that are used in Rupert Neve Design’s flagship 5088 recording console, which is critically acclaimed for its transparency and headroom. 

The RNT’s floor box comes with Class-A electronics and includes a range of controls and functions that allow this microphone to be fully versatile and suitable for any job. A switchable gain control ensures a vast dynamic range with massive sound pressure level handling capability alongside extremely low-noise electronic components. There is also a switchable low-cut filter which works to eliminate rumbles and floor noise and can also be used to compensate for the proximity effect and allows the microphone to be used to close-mic plenty of instruments such as electric guitar cabs, brass instruments, and percussion. The floor box also lets you control the polar pick-up pattern which ranges between 9 different patterns to choose from and includes omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-8 as well as several in between positions, so you can precisely tailor the balance between direct and ambient sounds.
