Rekordbox DJ has arrived; the new software released by Pioneer DJ

15 September 2015

Rekordbox DJ has arrived; the new software released by Pioneer DJ is just what Rekordbox users have been waiting for.  Rekordbox DJ uses one library so a set can be prepped and played straight from a laptop and used with a controller or export the same library to a USB device ready to use on the industry standard CDJ-2000 Nexus players.

Features of Rekordbox DJ:

Pioneer DJ have created the industry’s fastest and most reliable DJ software – giving you a stable performance whatever spec laptop is used.  Along with it being so quick it also boasts the lowest latency in the business.

Rekordbox DJ includes all the accustomed tools including Sampler, Slicer, Hot Cues, Beat FX and Sound Colour FX along with Beat Jump and introducing the new Pad FX so you can create multiple FX chains using all 16 pads.

Another significant feature is the software solely reflects the layout of Pioneer DJ controllers, so the transition to Rekordbox DJ is trouble-free.  The players, sampler, waveform, FX and browser accurately replicates the hardware.  DJs are also able to choose a view that suits them; either 2/4-deck horizontal or vertical.

Reckordbox DJ provides the option for the Graphical User Interface (GUI) to be split into two screens.  One can be used for browsing whilst the other for the performance features.  Due to the enhanced browsing, DJs can find the tracks they want more quickly by using the options of Playlist Palette, Shortcut, Related Tracks, My Tag, Preview or artwork display.

Rekordbox DJ availability

The Rekordbox DJ software is available as an in-software (Rekordbox) download with the choice of either a 30-day free trial of Rekordbox DJ or from October 2015, purchase a Rekordbox DJ Plus Pack for £99.  From December there will be the ability to set up a monthly subscription for €10.90.  Finally Rekordbox DJ will be included with the purchase of the DDJ-RZ and DDJ-RZ controllers.

As the Rekordbox DJ software is new and continually being developed, new features will become available some of which include new Plus Packs (additional FX and video support) and DVS control.
