Pioneer DJ NXS2 units now compatible with Native Instruments Traktor DJ Software
The latest Pioneer news reveals that the CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2 are now compatible with Native Instruments (NI) Traktor Pro 2 and Traktor Scratch Pro 2.
If you weren’t already aware, Pioneer has a scheme in place that looks at the compatibility of their own products for use with other brands within the industry. This has been known as their ‘Pioneer DJ Certification Program’. As a result, this latest announcement confirms the NXS2 mixer and multiplayer can now be used with Traktor Pro 2/Traktor Scratch Pro 2.
The main noticeable features of combining the NI software with the Pioneer hardware are that USB-HID is now accessible on the CDJ-2000NXS2 multiplayer and the DVS feature is now enabled on the DJM-900NXS2 mixer.

CDJ-2000NXS2 Multiplayer and Traktor Pro 2
The first key attribute of pairing the hardware with the software is the ease of connecting your PC/Mac to the 2000NXS2 to activate control of the Traktor software thus eliminating the requirement for a control disc. This enables you to scratch with ease and manage the performance features such as play/cue, loops and tempo adjustments etc. The second key feature worth a mention is the displayed track information you will notice. On the CDJ’s high-resolution screen you will see the wave forms, artwork and text information of the tracks that you have saved in Traktor Pro 2. Additionally, this allows you to quickly search for the track you want using the rotary dial on the unit. Finally, you can use the CDJ-2000NXS2 as a sound output unit for Traktor Pro 2 with the credit going to its powerful in-built sound card. This therefore eradicates the need for an exterior audio interface.
DJM-900NXS2 Mixer and Traktor Scratch Pro 2
All you need to do is connect your PC/Mac to the DJM-900NXS2 to use the control media (control vinyl/CDs) in Traktor Scratch Pro 2, to scratch and manage the digital audio files. It’s worth noting that if you are using a CDJ-2000NXS2 then you will not require a timecode disc! Secondly, as the 900NXS2 has two in-built soundcards any DJ changeovers are flawless. Also, you and another DJ can attach your laptop/PC to the mixer simultaneously; thanks to the 2 USB ports situated on the top of the unit and the input selector switches. Finally, as mentioned as one of the CDJ-2000NXS2 features above, you can also connect the mixer and use it as a sound output device also. The USB sound cards allow for top-quality 24-bit/96kHz sample processing and each sound signal can be selected and maintained through the mixer to PC/Mac connection. The settings on the computer can be adjusted from the mixer to suit your preference e.g. recording, creating or performance mode.
How to use the new compatibility functions
All registered users are able to download the newest version of TRAKTOR (2.11.0) for FREE. Additionally, ensure that your firmware is up-to-date. The latest available firmware for the CDJ-2000NXS2 is Ver.1.50 and for the DJM-900NXS2 is Ver.1.20.
