Kam Active Speakers are renowned for their quality sound output within well designed casings all at affordable prices. We thought it worthy of writing a small feature on the Kam Active Speaker Series.
Kam have two series, the SF and RZ. In the SF Series you have the SF12A and SF15A and within the RZ Series you have the RZ12A V3, RZ12A BT, RZ15A V3 and RZ18A Sub. Below we will provide some more in-depth information about each of the above mentioned speakers.
Kam SF12A
The SF12A is a 12” 500w RMS two-way injection moulded active speaker. The sound quality is fantastic due to the power handling of 400w+100w continuous/RMS. Built into the chassis is a 12-inch/60oz 4ohm low frequency driver, 1.75-inch Ti. Diap. 8ohm high frequency driver, 4ohm impedance, 40Hz-18KHz frequency response, a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of 102db and 96db ±3db sensitivity. The speaker also consists of a RCA and XLR audio line input, AUX input, XLR speaker out, 6.35mm jack and XLR microphone input. Overall this speaker is easily transportable making it suitable for any event or venue.
Kam SF15A
The SF15A is a 15” 500w RMS two-way injection moulded active speaker. The sound quality is in line with the SF12A speaker with a power handling of 400w+100w continuous/RMS. Built into the chassis of the SF15 A is a 15-inch/60oz 4ohm low frequency driver, 1.75-inch Ti. Diap. 8ohm high frequency driver, 4ohm impedance, 40Hz-18KHz frequency response, an improved SPL of 110db and 105db ±3db sensitivity. Just like the SF12A the speaker also contains an RCA and XLR audio line input, AUX input, XLR speaker out, 6.35mm jack and XLR microphone input. Again, this speaker is easily transportable making it suitable for any event or venue and features that slightly improved quality sound output.
Kam RZ12A BT
The RZ12A BT is a 250w portable PA speaker system. The unit comprises of a media player (MP3 and WMA), USB and SD card slot, Bluetooth wireless connections, in-built FM radio, VHF wireless system and two wireless dynamic microphone transmitters. The unit is able to play music from a variety of sources such as iPods, Smartphones and iPhones with ease.
The speaker system is powered by a durable rechargeable battery with an IEC input for charging or connecting to the mains supply (115V/230V dual input and DC12 output). The unit also has two RF indicators for each channel, two channel wireless audio, twin aerials (extendable) which fold away for easy transportation, echo effects that can be modified, two 6.3mm jack and one RCA line input, one RCA output, master 2 band equalisations, trolley wheels, a trolley handle which is extendable, a 35mm pole mount and a wireless remote control. What more could you ask for from a portable all-in-one system!
Kam RZ15A V3 and RZ12A V3
The RZ15A V3 and RZ12A V3 are the newest in the line of the Kam RZ speaker range and have improved greatly from their predecessor. It is a 300w RMS two-way injection moulded active speaker. The enhanced sound quality is first-rate with the power handling of 300w continuous/RMS and peak power of 1200w all encased within the new tapezoid chassis. Built into the RZ15A V3 speaker is a 15” woofer, 40oz, 2” voice coil, 25mm titanium diaphragm, 95dB - 1w/1m sensitivity, 50Hz-20KHz frequency response, Class H incorporated amplifier and bass and treble equalisation. The speaker also contains an RCA, XLR and 6.35mm jack input and an XLR and 6.35mm jack output. There are also stereo line and mix inputs and a 35mm pole mount is included.
The speaker is easily transportable and designed to be used as either pole mounted DJ speakers or floor stage monitors (due to the multi-angle horizontal placement design) making it suitable for any event or venue. The RZ15A V3 speakers are high-quality sound output speakers at an affordable price.
Kam RZ18A Sub
The RZ18A is an 18”, 640w RMS injection moulded active subwoofer speaker. The unit is durable and powerful with mid to high cabinets handling at 4 ohms with two 120w continuous RMS, two 240w program power and two 480w peak power. The unit also contains 4 ohms power handling bass sub with 400w continuous RMS, 800w program power and 1600w peak power. Encased within the sleekly designed unit is an 18”driver where the deep and strong bass emanates and a 3” voice coil.
The RZ18A sub has a sensitivity of 98dB-1w/1m and a 40Hz-3.5kHz frequency response. There is an XLR input and XLR output connection and an XLR and 6.35mm jack audio thru. The subwoofer can be mounted on a 35mm pole (supplied) and is connected by IEC mains power supply.

Overall Kam have produced a fantastic range which caters for all DJ, event and venue requirements at affordable prices. Each unit has been designed with practicality and ease of use in mind without compromising in the slightest on the quality of the sound output. Each item that Kam releases always excels its predecessor’s attributes and the materials and mechanisms used are robust, ergonomic, of superior quality and long lasting.
