Denon DJ MCX8000 Firmware V2.0 Public Beta Test

23 March 2018

Denon DJ are looking for users to Beta Test the MCX8000 Version 2.0 Firmware update. The new update brings a host of new and improved features to the MCX8000.

Engine Prime Software

The use of Denon’s Engine Prime software allows for accurate music management; it provides access to iTunes (where playlists can be directly added to your collection as a Crate or Playlist) and within Serato DJ. Additionally, beat grids can be fully exploited and the quantize function can be timed accurately to utilise performance features such as roll triggering, beat syncing, seamless loops and trigger or place hotcues.

New Firmware Features

This new firmware update includes additional support for Engine Prime prepared USB drives including added Beat Grid support, Talk Over level utility menu option (-20dB to -40dB), Talk Over resume type utility menu option (fast, normal), Mic 1 and Mic 2 attenuation control utility menu option (0dB to -20dB), a new Beat Grid slide feature, a new Quantize feature, added Quantize option 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1-beat and off (for setting/triggering hotcues and loops), a new Booth Receive mix signal utility menu option (on, off), a new Beat Sync feature, new BPM sorting when browsing tunes through BPM Filter and a new 12 o’clock platter LED reset for cues.

In addition to the new features stated above, a number of issues have also been resolved including <unknown> being displayed for a track name in crates and playlist with over 500 tracks, pitch fader not being reported in the SysEx initialisation message, device would not register as a MIDI device on some Mac OS systems, improvements have been made to stability and any additional bugs have been fixed.
