The Pioneer CDJ-850 is a CD/MP3/USB Player & Controller all in one and is used as a base for Pioneer’s future generation of the CDJ professional series. The CDJ-850 acquires many features found within the industry standard pro-series with the addition of improved mixing features, outstanding audio quality and a new platform for music to be shared. The controller allows all levels of DJs to produce, play and perform their mixes with ease and lets creativity begin.
Hereditary pro-series features
Pioneer's popular CDJ-850K inherits many features of the professional series CDJ controllers including the familiar layout, browse buttons and rotary selector to name a few. In addition to these features the 850 boasts a large 206mm jog wheel perfect for ease of use.
Music format compatibility
The controllers’ versatile media compatibility means that it can be used with either USB or CD-R/RW discs or the music formats can be in MP3, WAV, AAC and AIFF.
Rekordbox
Rekordbox music software allows you to manage and modify your music files e.g create and amend playlists, save the file history and adjust the settings. Rekordbox allows for analysing the Beat Grid, BPM, Wave, Cue and Loop of music files.
USB connectivity
As the Rekordbox software stores the music files and settings it enables the data to be effortlessly transferred on to a USB storage device. The USB can then be inserted into the multi-player directly, without the need of a computer. This enables the user to access and play straight from the CDJ-850 itself.
Display capability
The player is able to display information from the music file such as title, artist and BPM. In addition the use of the dial makes it fast and simple to select the music file wanted. The interface also shows the WAVE display, useful for the user to see the flow of the song.
Tag List Function
The Tag List feature allows for a song to be selected (tagged) at the press of a button (even whilst playing a song). This is useful for creating a list of songs that the user wants to play next. In addition to this the order of the songs that have been tagged can be amended and in turn the list can be saved as a playlist in Rekordbox.
The CDJ-850 is highly versatile as it is able to play a variety of media formats; MP3, WAV, AAC and AIFF audio files from either a CD or USB storage device. The USB port has been conveniently placed at the top of the turntable which allows users a speedy connection of a storage device and simply plug-and-play.
Rekordbox
Rekordbox music software is included with the CDJ-850. It is a music management software that categorises and organises the DJs music library. Rekordbox music software allows you to manage and modify your music files e.g. create and amend playlists, save the file history and adjust the settings. Rekordbox allows for analysing the Beat Grid, BPM, Wave, Cue and Loop of music files and has the ability to prepare them for use with the CDJ turntable.
Tag List Function

Auto Beat Loop
The player has 10 beat loop options allowing the DJ with a degree of creative flexibility. The 850 creates an auto beat loop by pressing the 1, 2, 4 or 8 buttons which in turn assists the DJ with creating those perfect loops and blending of tracks.
USB MIDI Function
DJing software that is MIDI compatible is able to be used using a USB connection to a PC or laptop. The player is also capable of being used with a USB HID which allows the user areas of the software that may not be attained without the need for a control disc.
