Focusrite Clarett 4 Pre Thunderbolt Audio Interface

The Focusrite Clarett 4 Pre Thunderbolt is an 18in eight out Audio Interface. This audio interface is one of the most versatile on the market, with its compact desktop format as well as combining four newly designed Clarett mic preamps with precision 24/192 digital conversion as well as the amazingly low round trip latency of 1.83ms which will revolutionise your workflow, as well as allowing the use of DAW plugins in real time.

The brand new design of the Clarett mic pre brings you an outstanding low noise and distortion, also, to this there is a switchable "AIR" effect, an analogue model of the classic transformer-based ISA pre amps. The instruments inputs of the Clarett 4 gives you extended headroom to suit the loudest of guitar pickups.

All four of the Preamps of the preamps come equipped with four combination XLR/TRS sockets on the front panel for Mic inputs with optional phantom power, line and instrument inputs and the adjacent gain controls that feature Focusrite's famous encircling gain halo indicators that will give a green glow when levels are good, but then will switch to red when levels reach overload point. The brand new optimised gain controls allow you to make changes a lot smooth and sound more natural throughout.

The front panel of the of this audio interface is a large format monitor control with two independently controlled headphone output with enough power to drive even high impedance headphones to bring you suitable monitoring level.

There are four more line inputs located on the rear panel, with four line outputs both on TRS jacks plus S/PDIF I/O and an ADAT digital optical format which gives you eight more inputs from, for example, a digital mic pre.

The new software mixer, Focusrite control, is included with this audio interface for easy configuration of monitoring and routeing set ups. Focusrite control which is simple and intuitive to use, and will provide you with a traditional mixer workflow and will give you instant access to internal hardware functions.

The Clarett 4 Pre includes an excellent plug-in collection which compromises softubes time and tone bundle, with TSAR-1R reverb, tube delay, saturation knob and drawmer S73 multi-band compressor. The RED 2 and RED3 AAX, AU and VST plugin suite complements this audio interfaces. This plug-in is modelled on the classic Focusrite Red range equalisers and compressor hardware.

This interface, like the rest of the Clarett range, includes the top of the range, precision Focusrite 24/192 digital audio conversion with 119 dB dynamic range. This features will combine its astonishing low round trip latency which is so small that it will allow you to monitor recordings via effects plug-ins on the DAW such as reverb, all within the single mix environment for the best possible recording to give you the best workflow. All these features combine to make a more efficient way of getting audio in and out of a DAW.
