Pioneer DJ NXS2 set-up now compatible with Serato DJ

Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 and Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 now support Serato DJ

Pioneer have recently announced that their NXS2 range now supports Serato DJ, which includes DVS and USB-HID control. This latest compatibility update is all part of Pioneer DJs continuing Certification program, where they ensure they look into their own equipments usability, with other products, produced from alternative companies within the industry.  As a result, the DVS feature of Serato DJ is now compatible with the renowned DJM-900NXS2 mixer and the USB-HID control feature is attuned to the well-loved CDJ-2000NXS2!

How to make use of this new compatibility feature

Firstly, make sure your firmware for both the mixer and multi-player is completely up-to-date.  For the CDJ-2000NXS2, you will need to purchase or update to the most recent version of Serato DJ (version 1.9.5).  For the DJM-900NXS2, you will need to ensure your Serato DJ is the most recent version along with the Serato DJ DVS Expansion Pack to unlock the full DVS potential.  Finally, if you purchase the Serato DJ Club Kit then both licences are included for Serato DJ and the DVS Expansion Pack.

Main features

The main attributes for using the DJM-900NXS2 mixer with Serato DJ is the precise DVS and scratch control, effortless and faultless DJ changeovers and the mixer can be used as an audio output unit for Serato DJ.  When the NXS2 mixer is connected to the PC/Mac, Serato DJ’s NoiseMap™ feature is instantly enabled to allow for management of your digital audio files using the turntables (with Serato DJ control vinyl) or the jog wheels (with Serato control CDs).

The main features for using the CDJ-2000NXS2 with Serato DJ is full track information can be displayed on the multi-players screen including Artwork, Waveform and Text information, thus speeding up the time it takes to select the next track.  In addition, there is the attuned scratch (eliminating the need for a control CD) and DVS control.
