Akai MPD218

The MPD218 key features include 16 broad, robust MPC pads which are backlit and consist of velocity and Aftertouch.  There are 3 banks where 48 assignable pads can be reached along with 18 adaptable 360⁰ potentiometers.   The 218 Akai controller contains MPC note repeat and full level, 16 presets which can be allocated, iOS compatible (with Camera Connection Kit sold separately) and is USB powered which means it does not require an AC adapter to be connected. Finally the MPD218 comes complete with Ableton Live Lite.  This controller is primarily aimed at those who are new to the industry, and who are after an easy-to-use, compact yet current piece of equipment.


Akai MPD226

The MPD226 is crammed with even more features including 16 velocity and pressure sensitive RGB illuminated MPC pads, 64 pads which are assignable and are available from 4 banks, 4 faders, Q-Link knobs and Q-Link buttons which can also be assigned, and 36 controls accessed from 3 banks which have the ability to be allocated.  The unit also features 30 presets with configurations for the most popular of DAWs, Classic MPC Note Repeat, 16 Level, Full Level, MPC Swing and Tap Tempo, MIDI In and Out jacks, dedicated transport controls, the flexibility of being iOS compatible using the Camera Connection Kit (sold separately), and finally includes Ableton Live Lite.  This controller is mostly aimed at music producers and live performers who are after a unit that is packed with features that can unlock all creative possibilities. 


Akai MPD232

The Akai MPD232 controller packs in even more features on top of the previous two.  It features a 64-part, 32-step sequencer to control pad actions, there are 16 durable RGB illuminated pressure and velocity sensitive pads, 8 Q-Link faders, Q-Link knobs and Q-Link buttons which are modifiable, 64 pads accessed via 4 banks which can be customised and 72 controls accessed via 3 banks which can also be adjusted.  The controller includes, dedicated transport controls, 30 preset total designed for use with the most used DAWs, includes Classic MPC Note Repeat, MPC Swing, Full Level, 16 Level and Tap Tempo, MIDI software and MIDI hardware compatibility, MIDI In and Out jacks, compatible with iOS via the Camera Connection Kit (sold separately) and includes Ableton Live Lite software.  Again, this controller is aimed at music producers and live performers who are after a unit that is crammed with features and that can unlock all creative potential. 


Overall

Each of Akai’s MPD controllers comes with Ableton Live Lite. 

In addition each unit comes with its own MPC Essentials software which ensures easy accessibility to start creating music right away.  This software features, 64-bit music production package featuring up to 8 pad banks, ideal for holding a total of 128 sounds/samples especially when using as a standalone, a 1GB sound library and provides the option to import your own Wav/AIFF samples.

Also included is SONiVOX Drum Suite, Big Bang Drums and Big Bang Cinematic just to enable your creativity to go that little bit further.
